XAUUSD | Daily Technical Outlook
Market Structure
XAUUSD is currently stabilizing after a sustained corrective move, with price consolidating around the 5000–5020 region across lower and mid timeframes.
On the broader structure, gold remains within a higher timeframe bullish trend following the strong impulsive rally seen on the Daily chart. However, the recent rejection from the 5300–5350 region triggered a corrective phase, with price forming a sequence of lower highs on the H4 timeframe, confirming short-term bearish pressure.
Price is now attempting to base above the 4980–5000 demand zone, but the structure has not yet shifted decisively bullish on higher timeframes, with sellers still controlling the market below key resistance levels.
Key Resistance Zone
The nearest resistance is located at 5025 – 5050, which aligns with recent consolidation and moving average resistance on lower timeframes.
A recovery into this zone is likely to face selling pressure.
Additional resistance levels:
- 5080 – 5100 (previous breakdown structure on H1/H4)
- 5150 – 5180 (major supply zone and prior distribution area)
As long as price remains below 5050, the short-term bearish structure remains intact.
Key Support Zone
Immediate support is seen at 4980 – 5000, where price is currently attempting to hold and form a base.
A breakdown below this zone would expose further downside targets:
- 4950
- 4900 – 4920 (key structural support on H4)
A sustained move below 4900 would confirm a deeper corrective phase within the higher timeframe uptrend.
Expectations
Bearish Scenario (Primary)
The current structure favors continued downside as long as price remains below 5050.
Failure to hold above 5000 would likely trigger another leg lower toward 4950, followed by 4900.
Bullish Scenario (Alternative)
A break and sustained move above 5050 would signal short-term strength, opening the door for a recovery toward:
- 5080 – 5100
- 5150+ (if momentum strengthens)
However, bullish continuation requires reclaiming higher timeframe structure, which is not yet confirmed.
Outlook
Gold remains under short-term bearish pressure despite maintaining a broader bullish structure on the daily timeframe. Sellers are currently in control below 5050, and a break below 5000 could accelerate the decline toward deeper support levels. A shift back to bullish momentum would require a clear reclaim of resistance zones and a break in the current lower high structure.
