XAUUSD Analysis: Gold Drops Sharply as Bearish Momentum Accelerates

XAUUSD | Daily Technical Outlook

Market Structure

XAUUSD is currently stabilizing after a sharp bearish impulsive move, with price consolidating around the $4,690–$4,710 region across lower and mid timeframes.

On the broader structure, gold has shifted from a bullish trend into a corrective bearish phase following the rejection from the $5,350–$5,450 region on the Daily chart. The recent decline has established a clear sequence of lower highs and lower lows on the H4 timeframe, confirming strong downside momentum. The latest leg lower appears impulsive, indicating aggressive selling pressure.

Price is now attempting to stabilize after an extended drop, but the structure remains decisively bearish, with no confirmed reversal signals yet.

Key Resistance Zone

The nearest resistance is located at $4,750 – $4,800, representing the most recent breakdown zone and lower high area.

Additional resistance levels:

  • $4,850 – $4,900 (H1/H4 supply zone)
  • $5,000+ (major psychological and structural resistance)

As long as price remains below $4,800, bearish momentum remains dominant.

Key Support Zone

Immediate support is seen at $4,680 – $4,700, where price is currently attempting to stabilize.

A breakdown below this zone would expose further downside targets:

  • $4,600
  • $4,500 – $4,520 (major support on higher timeframe)

A sustained move below $4,500 would confirm continuation of the broader corrective decline.

Expectations

Bearish Scenario (Primary)

The current structure favors continued downside as long as price remains below $4,800.
A break below $4,680 would likely trigger further selling toward $4,600, with potential extension toward $4,500.

Bullish Scenario (Alternative)

A recovery above $4,800 would signal short-term relief, opening the door for a move toward:

  • $4,850 – $4,900
  • $5,000+ if momentum strengthens

However, a full bullish reversal requires reclaiming higher timeframe structure.

Outlook

Gold is under strong bearish pressure, with sellers firmly in control after a sharp breakdown. While price is attempting to stabilize near support, the structure remains negative unless key resistance levels are reclaimed. Further downside remains likely if support fails.
